The wear rule of track shoes

In normal operation, the track pin slowly rotates backward in the pin hole, and the two wear evenly, the pin hole gradually becomes larger, and the pin gradually becomes thinner. If the operation is improper, such as turning at high speed, starting abruptly, or entering mud, weeds and so on to block the pin, the pressure on the left and right sides of the track shoe will be too heavy to bend down, the pin will be deformed and bent, and cannot rotate in the pin hole, the pin and the pin hole will become sliding friction, and the friction part is limited to a small part of the contact surface, the pin will gradually grind into a crank shape, and the pin hole will also become an ellipse. The increase of pin hole also causes the lengthening of track pitch (pitch is the center distance of holes at both ends of track shoe), so the track shoe and driving wheel grind each other, the track shoe is worn through, and the teeth of driving wheel are in the shape of blade. According to the measurement, when the pitch changes from 174 mm to 184 mm, the opening width of the driving wheel teeth changes from 87 mm to 97 mm, then the normal rolling engagement is completely destroyed.

Because of the lengthening of the track shoe pitch, it also causes the roller to jump when walking, which accelerates the wear of the track part of the track shoe. When the runway part is sunk more than 4mm, it should be repaired.

The wear of the guide part of the track shoe is mainly caused by the track deviation, the serious deformation of the track shoe, and the axial shaking of the roller and the guide wheel.
