Type of steel track shoes

Crawler board is one of the chassis parts of construction machinery, which is a kind of vulnerable part of construction machinery. At present, the materials of track shoes mainly include rubber, high manganese steel, medium manganese steel, low alloy steel, nodular cast iron, aluminum alloy and aluminum matrix composite materials, among which the steel track shoes are the most widely researched and applied, which are mainly divided into the following three categories:


1. High manganese steel


High manganese steel, also known as Hadfield steel, has a standard composition of (wt%) fe-12mn-1.2c. As a typical wear-resistant steel resistant to strong impact wear, due to its high strength and good toughness, as well as strong work hardening effect, it shows superior wear resistance under strong impact conditions, and is widely used in mining, metallurgy, automobile, engineering machinery, railway and other equipment parts.


At present, ZGMn13 high manganese steel is still used for the track shoes of tanks and heavy vehicles. After water toughening treatment, the strength and hardness of high manganese steel is not high, and its biggest characteristic is work hardening.


2. Medium manganese steel


As the wear resistance of high manganese steel is limited by conditions, its high wear resistance is only under the condition of strong impact (i.e. high stress


Under the working condition of force), enough work hardening can be produced.


Through reducing the content of manganese and carbon, the application of medium manganese steel in medium and small energy impact condition is studied and developed, and the application effect is superior to that of high manganese steel. The composition design of medium manganese steel is very important, mainly from controlling the content of manganese and carbon. The manganese content is generally 6% - 10%, and the carbon content is usually 0.6% - 1.0%.


3. Low alloy steel


In recent years, there are many reports about the research and application of low alloy wear-resistant cast steel in track shoes. By optimizing the chemical composition, casting process and heat treatment process, the required mechanical properties can be obtained, which can meet the use requirements of track shoes.


Among them, typical medium carbon silicon manganese steel (such as 31mn2si, 40mn2si) and medium carbon low alloy steel for track shoes with rare earth, boron, nickel and other elements (35MnTiB, 32crmob, 35crnimo, crmnsimore) added.


Low alloy cast steel has the characteristics of low alloy content (5% of total alloy elements), low cost, wide sources, good comprehensive mechanical properties, simple manufacturing process, etc. it is a kind of track shoe material with good application prospect.
